I believe most politicians are young souls. What we really need, as you said, are at least older souls who want to serve. Seems many old souls are more in the healing professions, teachers, artists, channelers. I've been told I am an old soul, and like Angela, don't always relate to the external world. The next few months all of us souls need to send love and meditate on a peaceful election.

It's such a good point, most old souls are drawn to other professions!

I'm so with you on meditating on a peaceful election. I sometimes wish we would live somewhere else than in the DC Area (the weather feels particularly swampy right now and the energy is intense all year round) but then I'm thinking that the more conscious people live close to the capital, the better. It's great that you are holding the fort in Texas! :)

I love that - the more conscious people live close to the capital the better. I know other conscious people who have moved that direction as well. As to living in Texas, I live in McKinney, and I recently found out there is a Buddhist monastery here, which I visited recently and brings needed calm and presence to the area. And for the last 10 - 15 years, there has been a growing metaphysical and spiritual presence here, which continues to expand. While I am native Texan, I often grieve at the politics here, and your comments reaffirm why I'm here. We do need to hold space.

Yes! :) So glad you have a monastery nearby, and other spiritual people you can connect with.

I enjoyed reading your calming thoughts about old and young souls in the positions of power. I feel like I'm an old soul and sometimes have a hard time relating to the usual world. I love your example of Jimmy Carter and some of the things he said. It is good when we have gentle souls in these positions that have compassion and genuine caring of others -- we so need that everywhere. (Oh and I'm from the US and am dreading the elections this fall! ahh)

Thanks so much for writing this, Angela! I was feeling a bit insecure over having shared this, wondering if people find it helpful and how it might be received. So, it was very relieving to hear that you found it calming, that's exactly the vibe I was going for. And I also like how you put it: "gentle souls"... such as good alternative way of describing people such as Jimmy Carter.

You’re most welcome, Louise! I can understand why you felt that way. This is a really interesting way to look at politicians and the upcoming election. I like that you took the time to provide context of these types of souls and the things they’ve said. The contrast of energy intrigues me!

Agreed! The gentle, compassionate people can get steamrolled by the more aggressive, power hoarders, but the genuine people who care and are compassionate are what we need right now, along with a strong assertive stance that won't be bullied by the toddler souls.

Kathy, "bullied by the toddler souls" is such a great description and really made me laugh! As everyone who has ever tried to take care of a toddler can attest, this perfectly summarizes the situation.
